Tune in HPV

Tune in HPV is a web television channel designed to raise awareness about the human papillomavirus through expression and entertainment.

Tune in HPV encourages visitors to contribute stories of your HPV experiences. We publish your stories on our site and other visitors can read your stories and hopefully post their own. We make videos inspired by your stories. These videos are off beat, humorous at times, and always informational. The information shared in our videos ranges from encouraging women to get pap smears, to raising awareness around contraction for queer men and women, to thinking critically and carefully about "magic bullet" vaccines.

Our information is supported by the Washington D.C. Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control. Tune in HPV is built by Giovanna Chesler, a filmmaker dedicated to producing work that critically considers gender, the body and health. The project began through the efforts of students in Chesler's course at American University called Communication and Social Change and through the work of web architect Zulma Aguiar. The project receives support from the Center for Social Media at American University.

Tune in HPV does not offer medical advice, nor is it about answering questions that swirl around this complicated and confusing virus. Rather, we want to hear what you know, what you've experienced, and we want to encourage you to consider your sexual health through HPV.
